Mad white engaged woman

Look people, getting engaged is really not that "weird, strange, out of the ordinary" and it shouldn't make you want to "go on eharmony" or make a public statement that you're sick of people getting engaged, when one of your friends gets engaged. You simply tell them congratulations and move on. They are the same person they were before.

I'm still cool, I'm still hip, I've just got a ring on my left hand.

Lesson: Next time you think you're being funny on facebook or twitter think again. AND, didn't you mother teach to you be an individual?

Feeling a little neglected?

Yeah, I thought so.

I can't say I've been busy, or overwhelmed, or any good excuse like that. I just haven't felt as talk-a-tive via blog as usual. It was much easier when I worked at school and had nothing to do all day and could twindle away the time with this blog. Now, I feel like I need to find actual work to do because this is a real person job. ha!

Should we start with most exciting first or go chronologically? hmm...

I bought a 2005 Honda Civic. Paid for it on the spot, cash money. Holla to no car payments :)

Sold the Carolla (old faithful) to a nice older gentleman who was convinced he was getting the deal of a century. Paid full asking price and everything.

Tried and tried to move out of my parents house. Nothing ended up working out. Maybe it is a sign... loser for life.

Dusty propsed out of NO WHERE!!! Woah! Shocker! Well, probably not to anyone who knows us but because I thought I had insider information, I didn't see it coming for another year or so. Now I have a big ol' rock on my left hand and I'm thrilled :D

He picked the ring out himself (he went to Jared's) in AUGUST, planning to propose at the Gorge but held off due to the fact that it's scary traveling with an engagement ring (you understand). I can't believe Dusty wants to put up with this for the rest of his life, I kicked him while he was trying to propose. Really Sarah!?

I'm still living the life of a contractor (as in I'm on contract at work). I get no vacation time, no sick time, no benefits at all. However, I have a job and I love the people I work with so I am very grateful they have kept me around this long and want to keep me around longer.

Life is good world, life is good.

Christmas is coming. I need to go pick up my last present today and then I am done. YES!

We're heading to Chicago for NYE with a group of good friends...can't wait! Staying in the heart of the city and hopefully Tom Foolery is in our group. As a matter of fact, I hope I get to share a bed with him. ;) Any ideas of where we should go or what we should do?

Last day of work for the week, what are we going to do? Well let me tell you... Nicole brought in her wedding pictures which I'm going to take a good 1-2 hours to look at and discuss, I think we'll need to go out to lunch since today is Wednesday and that will take 1-2 hours and then I'll head home, take a nap, clean up the basement and prepare for girls night (wine, games, snacks, boy talk, and Baloo).

That's all I have. That's it. I spilled my guts. My life is in your hands, or brain or eyes because you just read it.

I really like you.

“I think we have a wonderful marriage. I love my husband. He’s my best friend. But I always like to talk honestly about it because I think about other young couples who think there are no struggles to get here. And there are. That’s part of it. The message is - work through the struggles. Start out with somebody that you respect and that you trust so that when you hit the bumps that are inevitable you always have that foundation. I tell Barack as mad as he can make me I look at him and I say, “I really LIKE you. I like you. and I like the way you think and I like the person you. It’s hard to stray to far to stay mad too long, when the person is someone you like.”

1. Grand Canyon, Ariz. The one place you can feel as small as you're ever going to be.

2. New York City. You name it, and you can most likely do it here.

3. San Juan Islands, Wash. There is plenty of exploring to do, and an amazing city life.

4. Bryce Canyon, Utah. Make sure to bring your hiking boots.

5. Hawaiian Islands. These islands will give you the relaxation that you deserve on an hourly basis.

6. New Orleans. If you love seafood, I'm sure you'll fit right in.

7. Chicago. Great place to get the feel of the metro lifestyle.

8. Charleston, S.C. The beaches are always a spectacular plus to a getaway.

9. Grand Teton National Park, Wyo. The most visited parks in the U.S. Check it out.

10. Historic Williamsburg, Va. The history of our country lies here, oddly.

Wouldn't it be fun to check all of these off the list? They all sound amazing!
